My Skull Dog character for =skulldog's contest.
Really, only a simple reference sheet, nothing really detailed, sketchy, concept-like, more or less just to define the character rather than detail it.

Such a neat-o species. :iconhurrplz: Makes me wanna have a Soule Feeder just for hanging out with him, harhur.

Let's see, he has smoke coming from his "mouth" and "nose", though no where else. If not from the mouth, then usually from the nose, and when he sleeps, it either is an almost invisible mist or it stops all together. Veins/skin/flesh/muscle connects his head/skull to his body and his ears to his skull. Not the best of hearing, nor sight, but smell is surprisingly good (more or less because he "smells" through his nostril-cavity and tongue).
His ears are very expressive, since he doesn't have skin on his face to express himself otherwise. Body motions usually show a bit less expression and are more loose in movements, almost drunken in appearance some times. His skull has splittings/cracks on both eye sockets, which was probably received by banging his head/skull against hard objects when he was younger (that may or not be be before his proclaimed "full insanity").
His favorite foods are burned, no matter what he eats. In fact, he'll even eat charcoal and sometimes will drink gasoline, oil, or flammable liquids. Whether or not he drinks/eats such things to keep some sort of fire in his belly/internal organ(s) going or if he does so to produce the smoke (or even if he likes the flavor of smoke) is unsure. Regardless, it doesn't bother his senses in the least, and it bothers his sanity even less.


I quite like this design, for some odd reason or another. Probably the most simple I have .w.

Whoa, you mean like the hundreds (maybe thousands) of other skull-headed characters?
No way
Wouldn't have ever thought there'd be more than one character with a skull mask/head with a canine-like body *le'gasp*


Seriously though, what an intriguing comment since after looking at your characters in your gallery, of the two that have skulls incorporated into their designs (the one with a ref and the one without) -- they both look nothing like my fellow.

Hah, that's just sarcasm. If I wanted to be really rude, I might be closer in the range to a cuss.

I personally don't see how comparing one person's character to another can be taken as a complement, but that's just me.

How would you take it if I said that your character looked like mine?

It may have cracks near its eye sockets, a shade of brown, and a partial skull on its head, but it's otherwise in no way like my character.
